I recently adopted a four year old Persian who is a retired pure breed stud. He was used to being around a lot of other cats, so thought this would possibly help him feel less lonely. He is terrified of the heart beat. LOL The lamb itself is cute, appears to be well made, and is his exact size. He is just now beginning to run around the house and consider his new toys and environment, so I will take the heart mechanism out and let him chew on it, fight with it, or whatever he chooses, once he gets to feeling like king of the castle. I would recommend this if you keep in mind it might end up being just another stuffed toy.We got this for our 10 week old pup because he was so anxious when we put him in the crate, I had to sit next to it until he fell asleep or he’d spend 20 minutes going crazy before calming down. He was getting up 2-3 times a night to go outside and we were exhausted. The very first night he had this he didn’t wine at all when we put him to bed and he slept all the way through, and we’re on night 4 of no wake ups. I wish we’d known about this before we brought him home.My puppy had no adjustment issues thanks to this little heartbeat lamb. He loves this and snuggles with it everynight! So when my puppy first came home to me I bought this to try to help him keep calm through the night. He wasn't able to sleep through the night, but he did sleep more than I had expected. The next couple of nights he was able to sleep through the night completely (but liked to wake up at 5 am...). Fast forward to a month later, and I no longer turn the heart on all the time (because I forget). But I did buy a re-chargeable heart because having to keep buying batteries is a pet peeve for me. He still loves to sleep with it as it's another snuggle spot that helps keep him warm (short haired mini dachshund, so not much fur to keep himself warm) in the kennel. During the day though, he loves to drag this thing out of the kennel and "wrestle" with it. He shakes it a lot like all dogs like to do to "kill" it, and he's chewed the tail and nose worn. But the reason I say it has pheremones is that at 10 weeks old (which was younger than my last dogs' puberty age), he's humping it like there's no tomorrow. If I need to get his attention, or keep him out of a certain area, all I need to do is bring this out of kennel, and he's off humping the stuffing out of it. His brother (who belongs to my mother and is from the same litter), does the same thing. So now I have to wonder if they added some pheremones to it so that it's really "lovable". It was actually pretty hilarious because I was face-timing my mother showing her my dog with this anxiety toy, and he decided to perform his first humping act on air. So I'm not sure I can say it did it's main job to calm anxiety, but it did act as companion (in more ways than one) to my dog. My dog is almost 4 months old now and this toy is still going strong... well, the neck could use a sew, and the tail is on it's last leg, but he loves his girlfriend just the way she is.I bought this in hopes my covid puppy mini doxie would cuddle and snug this when I'd have to kennel him. This "baby" did anything but sooth him lol. I read all the reviews about how new puppies were comforted and my small psychopath saw it as a challenge. His favorite thing about this was trying to rip out the innards (found out homeboy is a chewer). Anytime I'd lay this sweet lamb with him, he'd literally wake back up to attack it. I have to laugh while writing this bc even the bad reviews on this doesn't compare to this guy's wrath with this lamb. I eventually took the heart out bc it wasnt worth the batteries in this ongoing vendetta. My dog is almost 2 now and still tosses this lamb around like it took him from his real mom.Love the heartbeat sound, but shuts off a bit too quickly. I’m also not fond of the placement of the heartbeat mechanism in the bottom of the animal. It moves around a lot and I continually have to open up the Velcro and bring the sound mechanism back into place. Maybe a little pouch can be sewn near the opening so the sound mechanism will stay put? Otherwise I believe the Quality of the stuffed animal is great!! At least my puppy hasn’t destroyed it and it does seem to soothe her at night. Me too LOL!My puppy loved this lamb, he sleeps with it everynight and it seems to bring him comfort. My puppy had his first at 8 weeks for its size, texture, and beating heart. He is 2 yr. Now and it’s his go to toy for comfort and play without heart. He’s a 11 # and a real little ruffian. This is his 3rdMy Pooch loves this toy. It was her first and she still sleeps with it every night. However we cut the zip out and took the plastic heart beat out. She didn't like the heart beat so we removed it. She was chewing at the zip and as it was for bed time in her crate we were worried shed chew part of it off and choke so we cut it out completely, which is totally fine. It's still her most loved toy out of all her toys and I would replace it in a second if anything ever happen to it. Sheep was even by her side when she was recovering after being neutered. We all just love Sheep, Sheep.Heart beat is loud like a pace and vibrates, the speed reminds me of my heart when I'm panicking. But also the batteries only last for a few hours on and off and are very expensive to replace. And not common. X3 Ag13 batteries??!!Total waste of money. And did not calm my dog....frankly stressed her out moreThis toy was s as great help for my dog when we first brought him home . It calmed him dii ok enough when he heard the heart beatHeart beat stopped working after 1st night of use. Changed the batteries, and still did not work.It seemed to calm her enough to fall asleep in the crate, however a huge shame that this product is so poorly made that it stops working after 1 night of use.The first one of these I ordered had a zipper and lasted a lot longer this one had Velcro and the dog was able to quickly get the stuffing out. Very disappointing the second time
